The short version

I wanted to follow a real program without a spreadsheet, and without paying rent on my own training log. Nothing I tried did both, so I built the one I wanted.

Grain Gym keeps the program, the session and the result in one place. It tells you what to do today, records what happened, and works out the next target from the program's rule.

What I kept missing

I've used spreadsheets, notebooks and plenty of workout apps. Most could log a set, but few could keep a program's structure visible once training got busy.

A plan is more than a list of exercises. It has a week, a day, a target, an increment and a rule for what happens when you miss. Lose that and you're back to doing arithmetic between sets.

What it does

Grain Gym has 13 built-in programs, 11 progression systems and 448 exercises. Pick one, or import a program you already trust as a JSON file. Grain Gym shows the target for each set, keeps the rest timer and logging within reach, and shows your records and charts as they build up.

Your training is stored on your phone first, so it works without a signal, and you can export all of it any time. There's no subscription.

One more thing

I've changed plans too quickly, logged badly, and lost training history in a phone move. Grain Gym comes from wanting a log that holds up between one session and the next.
